Tips & Tricks: How To Make Your Hair Grow FAST

I think everyone is familiar with the feeling of cutting their hair and then regretting it sooner than they’d like to admit… at least I know I’ve been there waaayyy too many times. But I can’t help it, I just get bored with things too fast and I have to mix it up (hence the new pink hair, lol)!

So! If you’re like me, and you’ve cut your hair and wished it was long again, let’s talk tips and tricks to get that hair long again and stat!

Braid your hair at night. This helps to reduce the amount of breakage from tossing and turning all night. Another perk: it creates the most beautiful waves for the next day (or two).

Silk pillowcases. Your new saving grace. Silk is very gentle on hair because it reduces the amount of friction that causes damage like split ends. Also, not to mention it’s great for skin too because it reduces irritation which prevents clogged pores and — it’s hypoallergenic!

Avoid buns. This is a tough one because I know there are quite a few days were you just want to throw it up in a bun and run out the door. BUT. Buns are super damaging to our hair, not to mention our scalps because the hair is pulled back so tight. The best thing for your hair is to leave it down, or braid it!

Hair masks. Honestly, the most effective hair mask I’ve ever used has been a simple and cheap kitchen staple: coconut oil. It’s such a good product to have on hand because it has soOoOo many uses. Apply it to dry hair and let it sit for 20-30 minutes with a shower cap over it. And make sure to massage it into your scalp to really get the blood flowing! Rinse it out, and your hair will love you!

Give your hair a break. And by this I mean do not over wash your hair. I wash my hair once a week, and I don’t even use dry shampoo in between washes. The natural oils that our hair produces is crucial for growing your hair, so I like to just let it do its thing (to a certain extent of course). On those last few days when it’s just a little too oily for you, opt for french braids and/or a hat!

Vitamins! If you take anything away from this post, it should be this. I have been deeply attached to this one, specific brand of biotin for the longest time. I’ve tried others before, but the only one that really makes a difference for me is Natrol Biotin. What’s great about this specific form is that it’s a dissolvable tablet that tastes like strawberry, so it’s one less pill you have to swallow!

Another vitamin I have been loving is Vital Proteins Collagen. I have definitely noticed a difference in not only the texture of my hair, but also how fast it’s been growing. I use the unflavored one because I can put it in whatever drink I want that day. Lately, I’ve been putting it in my chai latte’s with coconut almond milk and I can’t even taste it!

Let me know how these tips worked for you and if you have some of your own, drop them in the comments below!
